Set a budget
Draw up a guest list – this will help you understand how many guests you will have attending in the day and evening. This will also help when choosing which function room you wish to hire. Lowther is maximum 35 guests and Georgian suite maximum 135 guests for a ceremony.
Decide if you want a civil or church ceremony
View and book your venue – a great opportunity to do this is during our wedding open evening, last Wednesday of the month 6-8pm
12 months before
Book your registrar if your having a civil ceremony – You must book this yourselves 1 year to the date. Call 0300 123 6705 to book your ceremony time slot. The wedding coordinator recommends a time slot of 1pm.
Book your suppliers – entertainment, florist, cakemaker, wedding car, hair & makeup artist – If you need any help please ask us as we have a list of recommended suppliers, some of which offer discounted rates for Glendower couples!
Buy your wedding dress. Your wedding dress could take up to 10 months to arrive in the bridal boutique! It’s never too early to start looking.
6-4 months before
Buy your bridesmaid dresses
Hire or buy groomswear
Fill out and return your booklet to the registrar.
Send out your wedding invitations. – If your giving your guest a choice of food for the wedding breakfast it is a good idea to include this on the invites. Remember a maximum 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts can be offered.
4-3 months before
Contact your wedding coordinator to arrange your menu taster. If you’ve booked a wedding package this will come with a complementary menu taster, please come in to Coast and try the menu out before your big day!
Have your hair and make up trial
Buy your wedding rings
Encourage guests to book bedrooms and to quote your wedding when booking on 01253 723241 to receive discounted accommodation rates. £25 per room will be taken to secure the bedroom booking.
1 month before
Have your final details meeting! During this meeting the wedding coordinator will finalise all information with you such as final numbers, times, menus, set up etc.
Chase up unanswered wedding invites
Finalise your seating plan
Finalise details with your suppliers
Enjoy your hen and stag do’s – go on, you’ve earned it!
2 weeks before
Send your table plan to the wedding coordinator
Pay your final balance to the venue
Drop off all your décor and hand this over to a duty manager
Pre-book a table in Coast for dinner with both sets of your close family members. This is a good idea for everyone to meet before the big day if they haven’t done already.
Have an early night!
The big day itself
The wedding coordinator will be around from first thing to help with your busy morning. She will show suppliers e.g. MUA’s and photographers to your room, and she will be on hand to help set up your final décor.
Now… let’s get married!
Remember if you can take 5 minutes out just you and your partner, sit back and reflect on the day. Your wedding day unfortunately does go really quick so take it all in!
